Mawazo literally means “ideas” and is taken from Swahili. "Break the chain" with DYFI (Democratic Youth Federation of India) refers to two different events: a 2020 campaign to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by distributing hand sanitizers, and a 2024 human chain protest against the central government's alleged neglect of Kerala. In 2020, DYFI activists created and distributed hand sanitizers as part of the government's "Break the Chain" initiative, and in 2024, they organized a large human chain across Kerala to protest policies they believed were harmful to the state.
